Weekly Mental Health Q&A

May 15, 2006

“I’ve seen a therapist for a year now in my home town just outside Chicago , and I would like my boyfriend to come with me for counseling. Most of the issues I discuss with my therapist revolve around my boyfriend, and I think that if he came with me, we could work together to improve our relationship. The problem is, my boyfriend is worried that my therapist will be biased against him, since I have already cultivated a relationship with her. Is there anyway that we could both see someone together at SCRS so that we can start on equal-footing with a new therapist?”

WHAT SCRS CAN DO:

  • Provide you couples’ treatment with a therapist who will help you explore your relationship problems with empathy and objectivity
