Weekly Mental Health Q&A

April 24, 2006

“Most nights, in order to relax, I have a drink.—not enough to get really drunk, but enough to help me forget about schoolwork and other stresses. Sometimes I have more than one. But I have never let drinking get in the way of my grades, and I have never done anything reckless while drinking (like drive, or have unprotected sex). Still, my friends say they are worried about me, and that it’s not healthy to drink so regularly. I really don’t know if my drinking is a problem or not. Can someone at SCRS help me figure out if I need to change my drinking habits?&rdquol;

WHAT SCRS CAN DO:

  • Help you to assess whether or not your drinking is a problem
  • Help you to assess whether your drinking is having a negative impact on your friendships
  • Provide you with resources to help you change your drinking habits, if necessary
