"Ever since I found out I had an STD, I’ve been depressed. Although I’m not dating anyone right now, I worry about how it will affect my relationships in the future. I’m afraid that in order to feel comfortable telling the person I’m dating, I’ll need to really trust him or her. But by then I’ll have developed strong feelings for the person, and if he or she reacts negatively, I’ll be devastated. Can someone at SCRS help me sort through my worries and concerns about living with an STD?"
WHAT SCRS CAN DO:
- help you work through your fears about how having an STD may affect your relationships
- help connect you to someone at the Student Care Center who can provide you with additional information about STDs
- help you find support groups at the university or in the community that will connect you with others who are dealing with STDs
