"I was sexually assaulted last quarter, and all of my friends are concerned about me. I feel as though I’m “over it,” and ready to move on with my life. But my friends are worried about me because ever since the assault, I’ve been afraid to go out at night, and I won’t talk with them about my fears. They see these changes in my behavior as indications that I still have a lot to work through, emotionally. They keep urging me to talk to someone. Should I come to SCRS?"
WHAT SCRS CAN DO:
- provide you with a safe space in which to talk about the assault, as well as your fears stemming from the incident
- help you figure out just what “over it” means in terms of how you’re moving on in your life
- help you to find other forms of support (such as support groups for survivors of sexual assault), both at the University and in the community if needed
