Weekly Mental Health Q&A

"No matter what I do, I can’t seem to start writing a paper until the night before it’s due. I do a ton of research throughout the quarter, and prepare myself in other ways, but I can’t get myself to start the actual writing until the night before. This was never a problem for me until now, because for the first time in my life, I have to write really extensive papers. Although I almost always get A’s, I would love to change this pattern so that writing papers doesn’t have to be so stressful. Is there any way that I could get help with this at SCRS?"
WHAT SCRS CAN DO:
  • help you to recalibrate your thinking about paper writing so that you can meet the challenges you face at the U of C
  • help you work to find a way to address assignments earlier than the night before they’re due
  • help you determine whether you need help with study skills, and
  • refer you to ASAP (Academic Skills Assessment Program) at SCRS, if necessary
