Weekly Mental Health Q&A

Monday, June 6th

“My boyfriend has a physical disability that requires him to use a wheelchair. He will be graduating in the spring, and has been worrying about whether his disability will affect his career as he moves into the working world. I think it would help him to talk to someone about his fears. I want to encourage him to come to SCRS, but I was wondering if he could see someone at a location that is wheelchair-accessible?”

WHAT SCRS CAN DO:

  • find a space to meet with him that is wheelchair-accessible
  • help him to find additional support and resources that are accessible to him

DISCLAIMER: None of the vignettes are based on actual University of Chicago students or specific incidents. The vignettes suggest possible scenarios but do not represent any particular University students. The SCRS maintains a strict confidentiality policy that is outlined our Policies section.
