Weekly Mental Health Q&A

“Finals have always been stressful for me. But this quarter has been much worse than usual. Before an exam, my heart starts beating rapidly, I can't breathe, I start sweating, and my mind goes completely blank. Then I start feeling really panicky, and there's nothing I can do to calm myself down. Lately, I've started feeling this way even when I just THINK about finals. Is there any way I could get help for this at SCRS?”

WHAT SCRS CAN DO:

  • help you to sort out why this issue has become so stressful to you
  • help you devise strategies for coping with this anxiety
  • help you determine whether you need help with study skills, and refer you to ASAP (Academic Skills Assessment Program) at SCRS, if necessary
