“I went to a tiny high school in a rural area
with the same 24 kids in my class since Kindergarten. I was really excited to
come to the U of C, because I thought that FINALLY, I'd be able to meet someone
I could date. I've been here for almost a full year now, and even though there
are thousands of students, I can't seem to meet anyone. I've made lots of friends,
and I've met lots of people, but I still can't find a date! I can't figure out if
there's something wrong with me, or if I have crazy expectations, or if this school
is full of students who only want to study. Can I talk to someone at SCRS about my dating-blues?”
WHAT SCRS CAN DO:
- help you look at what hasn't been working for you up until now, and think about new strategies
- help you think about your social skills and you may need to adapt to this new environment
