“My circle of friends at the U of C is very competitive. I realized this past summer that comparing grades, relationships, and opportunities has really taken its toll on my self-esteem. I decided to separate from my friends at the beginning of this year, and I feel a lot better about myself already. Still, it’s hard to suddenly be without a close group of friends. Could someone at SCRS help me deal with this transition I’m making into being more independent?”

WHAT SCRS CAN DO:

  • Help you reflect on the issues that made your friendships uncomfortable
  • Help you to avoid letting competition become a major issue in your relationships with friends
