“My boyfriend is an EMT in Iraq, and I worry about him a lot.
I don’t know many other people with family or friends in the war, and I feel like I have to
deal with a lot of my fears and loneliness by myself. People here at school talk about the
war as though it’s so far away, and for me, it is constantly on my mind. Could someone at
SCRS help me figure out how to focus more of my energy on my life at school so that I’m not
totally consumed by what’s going in Iraq?”
WHAT SCRS CAN DO:
- provide a place in which you can talk about your fears
- help you to find relevant support systems either on campus or in the Chicago area
