Weekly Mental Health Q&A

Monday, May 5

“Over the weekend I got really drunk and exploded at a bunch of my friends. I said a bunch of really nasty things that I have always believed to be true, but never had the courage to say. Now that the truth is out, it seems like everyone is mad at me, and some of my closest friends are telling me I have a drinking problem. It feels like everyone is ganging up on me. I think they’re just angry about what I said and they’re trying to get back at me somehow. I’m sick of feeling targeted; there’s no one I can talk to anymore.”

HOW CAN SCRS HELP?:

  • Help you assess if alcohol has in fact become a problem for you and talk about ways to deal with it
  • Examine the anger you expressed to your friends so that you can better understand the underlying feeling that have been bothering you.
