ASAP: Note Taking

Note Taking

"Wisdom is learning what to overlook."

Henry James

Taking notes on a lecture involves a complicated process. You must listen to the lecture attentively, make decisions about what information is important, translate the information into your own language and then write it down. This process promotes active learning and critical thinking. Too often students lose the full benefit of a lecture by not taking notes or taking poor notes. One good method of note taking is the Cornell Method, developed by Dr. Sauk at Cornell University.
