2012-2013 U-SHIP Mental Health Benefit Change

Message to Returning Students on U-SHIP Insurance

Please note that the 2012-2013 U-SHIP mental health benefit has changed in accordance with the Health Care Affordable Care Act (ACA).  There is no longer a cap on the number of outpatient mental sessions (previously the cap was 25).  In addition, there is no longer a cap at $70.00 per session, but rather the reimbursement after deductible for an in-network U-SHIP provider is 90% of $100.00 with a student co-pay of $10.00 per outpatient mental health session.  Deductible for in network is $200.00.  Deductible for out-of-network is $500.00.  If you are currently receiving outpatient mental health treatment, you must ensure that your mental health provider is on the newly created referral list (maintained by Student Counseling) AND get a new referral.
